Some Information...
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Hi, my name is Tim and although I\u2019ve lived in central Illinois for 25 years (Bloomington, Illinois for 16 years), I have been a resident of Knoxville, TN for the past 25 years. I\u2019ve been a member of the Illinois Route 66 Association since 1991. I\u2019ve lived in 8 states and have traveled parts of Route 66 many times through Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois.<\/span><\/p>\n

After being in retail for 50 years, managing music retail stores, being a music sales rep with 30 accounts around central Illinois and working many years in the general retail setting, I finally retired from full-time. After taking a retirement trip in April of 2023 and seeing parts of Route 66 in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California, I was inspired to put this game together. I\u2019m still working part-time while taking on some new endeavors, including creating the Cantokmi Games Route 66 Anniversary Edition.\u00a0 <\/span>I feel fortunate and thankful to have my good friend, Carol, to help me with my game along with the many friends that gave me some suggestions when they played my prototypes. As a special mention to my late mom, who for several years, had encouraged me to start my own business which I've done now with this game.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Like many of us, I have a passion for Route 66. The road has undergone many changes, but the mystique of the \u201cMother Road\u201d is still there. There are hundreds of places to visit and see along Route 66, but I can\u2019t include them all in my board game. Decisions had to be made, and I\u2019m pleased to bring this game to you. So have fun enjoying, playing, and learning more about Route 66.<\/span><\/p>\n

From TC Entertainment, there is a new Route 66 board game to play now which is just in time to add excitement for the 100th<\/sup> Anniversary of Route 66 in 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tim Masten, owner of TC Entertainment, designed a game, called: \u201cCantokmi GamesTM<\/sup>\u00a0 \u2013 Route 66 Anniversary Edition\u201d and has now released it to be played by enthusiasts. He wanted this game to be educational, fun, engaging and portable, and to call attention to many businesses and attractions along Route 66.<\/span><\/p>\n

This game is uniquely packaged in a sturdy envelope, not a box.\u00a0 So when you\u2019re traveling, you can put it in your suitcase.\u00a0 It\u2019s also easy to ship to family and friends while saving time and money.\u00a0 Just put a shipping label on the back side of the envelope and send it off.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you take a vacation or go on a road trip, you take pictures.\u00a0 Well, this game reflects the idea of traveling through 8 states taking pictures and including some common traveling perils.\u00a0 It\u2019s not a race to the finish line; therefore, spending more time on the road will allow you to collect more pictures.\u00a0 The one with the most pictures at the end of the game is the winner!<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a road trip not like other Route 66 road trip games of the past.\u00a0 This one has 60 actual businesses or attractions allowing \u201cpictures\u201d to be collected from occupying a space on the game board.\u00a0 Experienced Route 66 travelers will recognize many if not all these landing spaces.\u00a0 It\u2019s not a fantasy or monopoly-type game.\u00a0 You can start either in Chicago or L.A. (Santa Monica) just like in real life.\u00a0 There are even some QR codes on the game board to access to learn more about Route 66.<\/span><\/p>\n

The game will be exclusively available to purchase from many of the businesses or attractions on the game board itself until May 1, 2025, when it will be available for wholesale to retailers no matter where your business is located.\u00a0 Of course, if you want to buy one game at retail, you can purchase it at a some selected stores listed in the Links tab.<\/span><\/p>\n
